Project Risk Manager

System One

This is a Full-time position in Charleston, WV posted May 3, 2021.

MOUNTAIN, LTD. has an opening for a Project Manager in WV. 

Since 1979, MOUNTAIN, LTD. has successfully created and supported turnkey engineering solutions for traditional and wireless telecom providers across the United States. We are a national leader in the industry, providing high-quality engineering, on-time service delivery, and skilled personnel paired with innovative technology and creative solutions. Specialties include OSP/ISP engineering, design, permitting, right-of-way and CAD for traditional and wireless telecommunications companies.

  • This position would ideally be filled by someone local to the Hurricane area of WV, but we will consider remote employees with previous experience.
  • This employee would be heavily involved in a training program that will be developed for the area to groom EA employees into full engineers. Any previous training experience would be highly desired.
  • This is a full-time position, but we may also consider qualified candidates looking for 25-30 hours per week. 

Responsibilities:

  • Receive and analyze new client handoffs.
  • Work with client engineering managers to negotiate acceptable timelines for both parties.
  • Establish due dates for internal milestones to meet client timelines.
  • Assign projects to internal staff and subcontractor pool. Analyze current workload, deadlines, and geographical details to strategically assign work across the resource pool.
  • Drive internal processes (Engineering, Drafting, QC, Revisions, etc.) to ensure projects are progressing and turned into client in a timely fashion. Track progress in Summit project management tool.
  • Assist in the development and administration of an engineering training program. Serve as a lead to work with trainees and mentors to ensure new hires are provided adequate training and progressing to be fully contributing employees.
  • Work with MTN LTD drafting team manager to establish expectations, assignment, forecasting, and escalations for active jobs.
  • Work closely with engineering team to ensure deadlines will be met. Address roadblocks and delays to manage due dates appropriately.
  • Drive team for on time service delivery. Work directly with internal staff to ensure final packages are created and meet Frontier guidelines.
  • Work with MTN management on resource management matters
  • Provide periodic reporting to MTN management on progress.
  • Provide periodic reporting to Client management on progress
  • Take part in any required client conference calls
  • May support multiple clients and/or regions
