CLIENT SUMMARY:

For over 30 years our client, a growing national Engineering company, has provided full-service engineering, procurement and construction management services to industrial process manufacturers that operate in pulp & paper, chemical, consumer product and food & beverage markets.

We are seeking a General Manager to join the company to manage your marketplace.

JOB SUMMARY:

The role of the General Manager is to lead the business growth of your market and the company.

This person will actively drive the profitability of the office by hiring theie team that will thrive on business development and project execution.

The GM will work closely with the other members of the leadership team to coordinate growth plans and resource utilization across the company.

The GM serves as the face of the company to the market and clients.

KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develop business strategies and leads working with other Business Development staff, General Managers and Vertical Market leads Strategically hire people to support your efforts in BD and project execution Support Account Managers with planning and implementation of account development and opportunity-specific sales strategies Active leader in sales, project initiation and project review meetings with clients Ultimately responsible for full profit and loss of your market Bring, champion, and implement best practices to internal operations to get projects done more effectively and efficiently, while maximizing and developing talent Works closely with COO to coordinate hiring decisions, physical office decisions, training and development Participate on companywide GM/Operation Team Establish and maintain strong relationships with existing and future clients Will work closely with the COO and CFO to manage overhead Will report to the COO and have direct accountability to the CFO for financial responsibilities

CANDIDATES’ QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
Minimum of 20 years in an Engineering environment as well as 15 years leadership responsibility Experience in a growth-oriented engineering firm is strongly preferred, including personal leadership of sales initiatives Strong leader with integrity and dependability and a strong work ethic Be results-oriented, proactive, and confident Strong understanding and prior experience in engineering services and construction in the following industries: chemical, pharmaceutical, pulp and paper, food and beverage and consumer product industries BS, Engineering preferred but other Technical degree is satisfactory Demonstrated success in leading people, driving sales, and developing new market opportunities Demonstrate a keen awareness of target client needs Project a sincere desire and ability to work within a team environment, both locally and at a corporate level(and a history of having done so) Must have project management experience and demonstrated the ability to deliver projects on time and financially successful Evidence excellent communication and presentation skills (written and oral) Travel expectation is 25%, mostly regional
