AB Mauri was formed in 2004 as an operating division of Associated British Foods (ABF).Position Title:utilities mechanicReports To:maintenance supervisorDivision:AB Mauri North AmericaFLSA Status:NON-EXEMPTDepartment/ Location:maintenance/ memphis PositionObjective:Conduct maintenance of utility equipment in a manner that will ensure the highest reliability.

Maintain logs and perform testing on all the required equipment to meet plant needs and regulatory requirements.

Repair and maintain machinery and mechanical equipment such as pumps, motors, and production machines and equipment.

Observe mechanical equipment in operation and troubleshoot failures.Key Result Areas:Performance Standards:Utilities & MaintenanceOversee the boilers, chillers, well, and cooling tower while in operation and detect complications using accurate testing and measuring instrumentsMaintain a log of readings to ensure systems are operating according to standards and alert management of variationsConduct preventative maintenance (PM) on equipment per the PM scheduleMonitor and maintain compressed air systems to the plant to prevent failure Dismantle equipment to examine form and texture of parts to detect imperfections.

Repair or replace defective parts.Inspect used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements, using rules, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments.Adjust functional parts of devices and control instruments.

Install special functional and structural parts in devices.Lubricate and clean parts.Set up and operate drill press, grinder, mill and other metalworking tools to make and repair parts.Start devices to test their performance.Request parts (stock and equipment) for purchase and implementation.Complete maintenance care obligations according to manufacturer recommendations or as instructed.Perform basic electrical and instrumentation work as required.Human Resources Comply with HR policies and procedures.Comply with relevant employment laws.OtherComply with all safe work procedures, practices and security guidelines Participate in sharing of knowledge to enhance development of the maintenance team.Exceptional ability to perform in a noisy, humid, hot and high-volume machine production environmentRegularly communicate with other employees regarding ongoing repairs, including status of repair or part request.Other duties as assigned.

A COMBINATION OF THE LISTED SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE IS REQUIREDHigh school diploma or general education degree (GED).

Minimum of five years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.First Class Steam license preferredKnowledge of mechanical and/or electrical terminology.

Ability to recognize problems with various types of industrial machinery, pneumatics, robots and automation equipment.Knowledge of laser alignment Light welding experienceBasic electrical and instrumentation knowledgeExperience in food processing.
